Icon2 What lowering spring to go with?

Not sure if this is the right section? But I have a sedan I'm building, also going to be my daily driver for a baby. What spring gives you a good drop and stance? I usually use coilovers but I want a good drop.

You usally use coilovers but you want a "good drop"? What does that mean?

building a car and lowering springs should never be said in the same paragraph. If you want to lower your car a significant amount look into function&form type 1 COILOVERS. If you want to lower you car but plan on tracking in the future look into Skunk2 pro s II COILOVERS.

if you put lowering springs on your car I promise you will regret it

HaHa......Your right they should not be used in the same sentence! But idk I know what to use when it comes to coilovers. I have built alot of Honda's and have never used lowering springs. But I was just trying to see if there was a spring out there that rode, looked good. That's what I meant by a good drop.

You will regret it, if you listen to this guy.

Both setups he mentioned are poor quality setups.

ya, i remember when i read the suspension guideline thread on honda-tech and thought i knew everything about coilovers...

what do you know about skunk2 pro s II coils? skunk2 is in the iffy section of that thread so youre going to say theyre bad? I admit Function&Form arent the best but I know alot of people use them for slamming their cars, they are relatively low in cost, and if this guy is considering lowering springs these coils would be a big step up from that.

please do some research before hating on legit advice and not even suggesting your own

For a somewhat low car, but a comfy ride look at a Tein S tech, or a H tech.
Pair these with a quality shock, and you should be ok. The rates will be low enough to keep the baby happy, and the ride height low enough to keep you happy.

However, you could keep your stock springs, and throw some Koni sports in, put them on the lowest perch. You'll have a lowered height, yet the comfort your baby needs.

For a coilover that is decently priced, look at the progress cs-II

EDIT- what is your budget, how low are you looking to go, and how much time will the baby be spending in the car?

My friend's little girl would black out in his hatch with 750F/800R. lol

I have lots of experince with Skunk2 suspension parts, do you? Skunk2 suspension parts SUCK!
I currently have skunk2 coilovers on my car, I have had the sport shocks with them as well.
I had pro-s's on my car for a week, they rode like absolute crap. Very bouncy, very harsh. You can feel every little crack in the road.

The only thing the pro s II's give you is the abilty to lower them at the bottom mount. That's it. They aren't special.

Where do you see him saying he wants to slam the car?

A qulaity lowering spring and proper shock would WAY better then Function & forms.

The reason why I hadn't suggested anything, is beucase you need to know what he wants. A "good" drop doesn't tell me ****.

if you think that advice was "legit" I feel very bad for you.

Don't get a super stiff suspension with the baby. It's probably not going to be great for the baby (in fact it could be downright dangerous) and it's not going to make you very happy either when you hit a big bump and it wakes up.

I've got 350/250 and even I'm not thrilled about the idea of putting my baby back there. Fortunately we've got another car.

Yeah I'm over te stage of slamming a Honda and putting 0+ offset wheels. I'm just wanting a somewhat good looking lowered car. For example I don't want my front lip to look stupid because its so high. That's why I was leaning towards lowering springs.

Also the baby want spend everyday in the car but most of the time she will.

Here's how my DC sits on CSIIs. There's only about an inch of functional adjustability on those coilovers so this is pretty much how it would look for anyone:

Any lower than this and you will need significantly stiffer springs.
