so me and my brother are doing my rear brakes, pads and rotors, and we cant get the caliper back on because the piston is sticking out and wont go back in, we've tried squeezing it back with channel locks but they wont budge. please help thanks

 

Release some pressure by opening the bleeder. You're going to have to bleed the system anyway.

 

 

Try a "c" clamp. it's what i used when changing the fronts. i'm sure it'll work. make sure the pads are in properly too.

 

The rear calipers need to be twisted WHILE pushing in.

Also, poping the bleeder can help.

Just to update we did use a slotted screwdriver to rotate the piston and it went in. I did take off the master cylinder cap and we did not need to open any bleeders.

twist the piston like a screw in a clockwise motion. it will thread back to position.
