Default EG no crank

Weird issue with my EG, been doing it since I got it.

If I put the key right in and attempt to start I either get a click in the dash (probably main relay) but no click in the starter or buzzing in the dash (same area). In either case, I get no action at the starter (not even a solenoid click). No crank whatsoever.

However... if I turn the key to "on" first, wait 2-3 seconds, then hit start... the car fires right up with no issues.

I've been driving it like this for month, until today when it decided it didn't want to start no matter what I did.

Some critical things to note:

-I ALREADY REPLACED THE MAIN RELAY

-THE CLUTCH SWITCH IS NOT AT FAULT, ALREADY TESTED

-The dash lights come on normally in all key positions.

-Wiggling the key (as in a bad ign switch case) does absolutely nothing.

-The car has absolutely no issues with shutting off or losing power once started, even if I violently wiggle the key and hit pot holes on my insanely stiff drag launch springs.

-Up until today, waiting 2-3 seconds before crank has worked 100% of the time for months.

I'm stumped here. Once I get a second person around I'm going to try to test the starter, but in the mean time, is this something you guys have heard of before? The 2-3 wait fixing the issue is what really baffles me. My EF had a similar issue in which it would do absolutely nothing on the first attempt at starting, but would fire right up on the second attempt. Swapping in another transmission with a different starter fixed the issue, but I never could understand why it would work the second time 100% of the time.

You don't need another person. Try this...

Found it. Strangest issue ever... the actual plastic inside the ignition switch is worn to the point that the lock cylinder shaft can't turn it far enough to actually make contract and crank. If I turn the ignition switch with a screw driver (like someone must have been doing for a long time to wear it out in the first place) and it start ever time.
