tpms programming question 2012 si....any honda techs on here...
I have a 2012 si that I am putting 18" bbs rk's on....I bought a separate new set of tpms sensors from hondaautomotiveparts.com so I didnt have to dismantle my stock wheels.....Question is since I am putting the new tpms in myself before going to the tire dealer (already checked the oem sensors look and seem to ffit fine !!) and then mounting the wheels on my car...Do I need to write down any of the numbers off the sensor its self before I go to honda for programming them to the car? If so what numbers? Never had to deal with all this crap before kinda a pain in the butt....Or will hondas tools automatically pick up on the sensors and able to "sense" them?
thanks
thanks
I believe your factory set of TPMS sensors will still be registered to the car's system, so even if you did re-program for the new sensors you would still have to remove the tires on the original set to re-synchronize with the car's system.
Granted you got the correct TPMS sensors, you don't need to write down any codes.
A honda technician or a reputable tire shop should be able to configure the new TPMS sensors to work with your car.
After pairing the car with the sensors, driving for a few miles (or reaching a certain mph) will turn off the blinking (_!_) symbol and you should be good to go.
