Default Selling my beloved #0811

I thought this day would never come.. but here it is.

I have a baby on the way, and as a lot of you know.. the R isn't exactly the most baby friendly car out there. So my R officially went up for sale today.. and I officially went to the dark side. Purchased a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback tonight.

Craigslist is the only place I have it listed as of right now. Hopefully it will be sold quickly. It hurts my heart to have it sitting in the garage, knowing it won't be mine very much longer.

The new car:

The R:

Congrats on the baby. You should post it in the stickied FS thread here too.

Congrats on the baby and new Subie. The WRX hatch looks pretty sweet with that drop, good choice for a kid friendly daily ride.

Is there no way you can keep the R as a second "fun" car? I hope to buy a CW R someday to add to my garage (CW is my second favorite color ) BTW how much R you asking for heR?

I also have 2 kids, 1 of of them is a newborn and we use the Itr when we go to meets and what not no problem.

Keep the R, you are going to regret selling it.

Congrats on the growing family! Post it on itrca's for sale section too. The more eyes the better. Be careful when meeting people on Craigslist. GLWS!

Yes, do be careful on CL especially with a car like an ITR. I would stick to ITRCA.

Congrats on the kid & that WRX is a great car that is more suited towards what you need. If possible see if you can keep the R as a fun weekend vehicle if financially possible? Good luck!

Thanks for all the congrats, guys! I'm excited (but nervous) to be a new mom!

I would LOVE to keep the R as a weekend fun car.. but I just can't justify it. We just bought a house, we are getting married this summer, and now we have a baby on the way. I need to do the right thing for my soon to be family and focus on what we need, not just what I want. Remember, guys.. I'm the mom. I'm going to have the baby 98% of the time. I'm not going to have time for a weekend car anyway. Not to mention my other half is not a car guy at all, so it makes it even harder to have a weekend car. Lol. But, I had a great run with the R, and it's time for someone else to enjoy her. I just hope I can find her a good home where she will be treated the way I've treated her.

Thanks for all the advice on selling heR. I'll post on ITRCA and a few other places here soon. I have a few promising leads through my facebook. I am getting a kick out of the texts messages I'm receiving from craigslist.

I totally understand the want and need to sell an "R" especially for it's DD commuting difficulty. Just FYI I went to an EVO in 2006, and yes trhe EVO has absolutely NO negative issues like the R does theft wise. But It's not half the car regardless if it has half the power and my EVO is tuned. **** to think about. Best of luck and I've been where you are. I still on my R and my EVO. Ask me what you like...

Do you guys think I'm asking too much? I really don't want to low ball myself and I know it hasn't been up for sale for very long, but I'm getting frustrated.

Should I sell all my extras (CF Hood, system, extra rim, etc) separate and lower the price? I'm not getting very many hits, except for idiots wanting the 5 lug suspension or the seats.. and my posts keep getting flagged EVERY day within an hour of posting. There's a 2000 PY for sale in North Phoenix for $9.7, but it's stock with about the same miles. I'm starting to think he is flagging my post

Just talked to the guy selling a 2000 PY. He claims he's not flagging it. Ugh! This is so frustrating! Craigslist shouldn't allow the post to be deleted when it's flagged. It should be reviewed by someone before being deleted. ;/
