Good deal on Brembo blanks from Tirerack
Whats up HT! Just thought I throw this out there, just ordered new Brembo blanks for my Type R. Very good deal from TireRack. Get some if you need, shoot even if you dont need some, its a damn good deal, IMO. But its $48 for each front rotor and $40 for each back rotor.

ive never heard of centric before, until i saw them on tirerack's site. My itr is 14 yrs old now, with 200,000+ miles and only on its 2nd set of pads and rotors, both OEM sets. I heard good things bout brembo blanks, so i thought i would give them a shot w. A set of hawk pads. I'll keep centric in mind. Thanks for the vouch about centric.
They also sell re-manufactured calipers, master cylinders, pistons, caliper rebuild kits, etc... You can get like-new Brembos from the 04-08 TL for like $130 each (plus core).

The best part is that their website makes it really easy to find and cross-reference parts. Brembo's website is all but useless. I hate that. Especially when they come out with new part numbers for rotors every time they change one little thing.

good stuff. Thanks for the info! I also got a set of hawk hps pads, never used them before. May return them, saw youtube vids about squealing. Has anyone used these pads before or know of somsone who has? Pls let me know the good and bad. Thanks!

I have hawk HPS pads on my 07 tsx with centric rotors, they never squeak on my car. brake dust isnt bad. they stop well(better than stock). Can be used for light track/ street use
What would be the ideal replacement pads and rotors for a 00 ITR?
Just a weekend car and rare track car.
I was looking at EBC but it seems like there is better options,
Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys.

Im glad to hear it. Do you do the "bed in" procedure that Hawk recommends? If you did, do you need to do it as many times as they say? I dont have any roads long enough or empty enough around me to do it! lol!
Hey Keilani, all I've ever had on my R was OEM, and its just a daily driver, no track use at all. Might want to look into stoptech and powerslot. good luck!

you dont need much room, 0-30mph if that. if you cant go strait to 50 feet you live in a windy place lol much be fun driving the R there
Hawk HPS pads here as well and no squeaking at all. I did my(modified version of AP racing's burnishing process) bed-in procedure on them. You really want to try to get a transfer layer of pad material onto the rotor. Pads grab much better and the car stops much better overall. When the face of your rotors has a darker blueish color and they are no longer showing shiny silver through, you are done bedding in the pads. You will have to repeat the bed-in process as the transfer layer will wear off over time.
lol. I wasnt thinking right, i had seen a vid where a guy was bedding in new pads and he must have repeated it 8-9 times, starting bout 45-50 mph down to 10-5mph. He used up quite a bit of road, so i was like man i dont have any roads that long to do that quick enough w/o traffic and not having to turn around. Lol

the hawk pad procedure says 6-10 times, moderate pedal pressure, 30-35mph down to 5mph, then 2-3 hardstops w/o kicking in abs, 45-40mph down to 5 mph. Then park the car and release brakes right away and let them cool off. I wonder if 6-10x is really necessary.
The Centrics can be found even cheaper. Autoanything.com had them for only a few dollars cheaper than Tire Rack but does not charge for shipping. They are also the Premium rotors instead of the cheaper versions Tire Rack is selling. If you subscribe to their e-mail alerts they run some what regular 15% off sales. It should get you a complete set of rotors for ~$150 shipped.

BTW: Sometimes their coupon codes work on items other than what they say they work on. Last time I used a 15% off coupon for Timken products and it worked on my entire cart (Centric, Stoptech & NTN). Check google for better codes.
Another good place for Centric stuff is StockwiseAuto.com. They don't have front rotors in stock right now though. But you can find coupons for them on google as well. Last one I used was 10% off on anything. Their prices are usually lower than everyone, but they don't have free shipping.
$117 shipped for all 4 Premium-rotors with -10% coupon code "Centric" on Autopartsnetwork.com. I've ordered my Centric rotors and Stoptech pads from them and they were pretty good. Nice guy on the phone too checked stock for me and even called me back. Got to me in a week with free shipping (New York to Nevada).

Nice find! Where did you find the coupon code?
Just realized that is the coupon code. Sweet!

Sometimes they have already expired, but they are still on their page. You may be able to call and see if they will honor it, but I don't know. The ones on there now are good till the end of the month.
