400cc,600cc,1200cc? all different amounts on insurance? 400cc enough power for beginner
just wanted to know if insurance is higher for the different engines, and if a 400 has good power for a beginner, i like the 95 honda cbr f4, i think thats what it is anyway, anyone want to help, please
I don't think the CBRf4 was made until 1998, 95 i believe was the f3, both of which are 600cc. not 400cc
if you under 25 and getting a motorcycle catagorized as a "Sportbike" your premiums WILL be HIGH! maybe a lil cheaper with smaller capacity bikes but whem insurance companies see a younger rider on a sportbike the first thing they see is them paying a claim if not life insurance.

could i take the chance of having no insurance on it ,and try not to reck it and myself???? if i am just going to be driving it around my hick / wanabe ganster / gay / little city town?????
so the year comes into play too, so i can get a f4i like 95 400cc and it will be cheaper then a 2003 cbr 400
The smallest cbrs come in 600cc displacement. Please learn more before you make an uneducated decision. Usually insurance companies class by displacement and if the bike was new withing the last 3-5years. I know sub600cc bikes are a lot cheaper to insure. My 498cc kawi was $334 a year back when I had 1 day of experience. That as liability only. And how would you get registered and a plate w/ insurance?
1991-1994=f2
1995-1998= f3
1999-2000=f4
2001+=f4i

The cbr is not available in anything smaller than 600cc in the united states, europe/japan is another story. As for insurance the displacement in cc's is one of the factors they use to determine rates. Also there are certain bikes that make it onto a black list. These are going to be higher because the likelyhood of them being stolen or wrecked is higher. Hence the ducati being cheaper than say an R6 or cbr......
It depends on your state if you can legally ride without insurance or not. Some states (florida included) dont require insurance to ride unless you want to ride without a helmet. Just remember if you have an accident YOU will be responsible for the damages you cause as well as your bike and injury to yourself. If that is a risk you are willing to accept and the state doesnt make motorcycle insurance mandatory have at it.
If your state does require insurance and you are caught riding without it you can either get a warning if the cop is nice, or they can arrest you.

There probably are smaller CBR's than 600, but not any that made it to the USA. The Kawasaki Ex500 is a great beginers bike. Late model 600's are really fast. Not really any better for a beginer than a 750.
