Default Removing Sedan Center Vents

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I am looking for some sound advice. I am a proud owner of a '91 civic sedan, and I am in the process of mending a few functionality issues.

First off, my center console vents. Im not sure when it happened, but some how the dial which controls the horizontal direction or channeling of the air flow has some how been pushed inward, and I cannot seem to fix this issue without removing the vent cover itself. Leading me to my first question..

How do I remove the cover safely without damaging it?

i understand I have to pry it, I also understand how easy it is to break. Should I start prying it off from the top center, or near the corners?

If you can the middle of both vents but then again it's more controllable to start from one corner and work your way over. If you have strong enough hands just grab the bezel lip and pull it out.

Get the proper plastic ply tools and do it from there they are around $10-$15 and they will not damage the dash or the vent.
