Default Heel Toe Shifters Honda Motorcycles

I have a 2011 Honda Shadow Aero VT750C and picked up a Custom Heel Shifter online. It works Ok but I have concerns.

Question: Can adding a Heel Shifter damage the Transmission over time by adding a constant weight on the "shifting shaft" thus causing premature
failure of increasing wear on any internal Transmission parts.?

As I installed the shifter I kept thinking that maybe it would cause internal parts to Rest at the outer margins of their positions rather than in a more centered position. Then I imagined if it is at the outer margins that it might basically slowly and almost undetectably grind away inside the transmission.

Is this something I should be concerned with?

In addition I wanted to further modify the shifter by adding a 2 inch extension
to it thus adding even more weight to the heel shifter.

I would appreciate it if someone who knows about these things can help me understand it better.

No... it may increase the shaft o ring/bushing wear slightly, but I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Don't you use your pegs to ride?

Yes, I use my Pegs. I was talking about the extra weight of the heel shifter and a custom extention for it hanging on the shifter all the time.

I got rid of the Heel shifter anyway and shipped it back for a refund,
it didnt work right on my bike.

(sorry about taking days to reply I forgot which website it was and just found it again lol)
