For some reason my speedometer has quit working. I checked the cable and it seems to be fine. Pulled my cluster and checked to see if it somehow unplugged, but it was fine. Any suggestions? B16 in an 89 dx hatch.

Either way it is extremely easy to check. Here is how:
1.) Pull the cable out of the transmission.
2.) Turn the end of the cable that spins.
2-B.) IF it spins, have a helper watch your speedometer to see if it bounces/moves at all.
2-C.) IF it does not, pull the cable out and inspect it. See if the end is broke that goes into the cluster or if the cable is broke itself.
2-D.) IF cable inspection Passes, suspect gauge cluster as issue. (Another thing to check is the VSS itself.)
3.) It's always a good idea to slide the cable in and out of the sleeve to check for "hang ups".
4.) Lube cable and reinstall into sleeve.
5.) Put the cable back into transmission.
