I love ITRs!
i just think ITR's are the best cars made by honda. and i was wondering how much you guys spent on them to buy. im not talking about mods youve done just how much was the purchase price? i really want an ITR, bad!! and i just want an estimate of what the general price is. so, whatd you pay? and how old were you when you bought one?
I paid $14,995 for mine at 20 years old. I got lucky... the guy I bought mine had hella miles on it so it had like no KBB value, but he had Acura put in a brand new motor like 5,000 miles ago.

I paid $23,500 for my '01 R off the showroom and I tell you it worth every pennie.
I love my R and if God provides I never get rid of it. The more power and performance I get of it, the more I like it!

anyone want to trade your ITR for my civic si with mods?????
not itr but 95 civic ex coupe,5speed, with 102k on for 5500 , but want a 93-95 black toyota mr2, so i'm not fixing up the civic, i'm going into the air force soon, and i want to get a bike too, so i'm saving up and getting something nicer to fix up, plus rear wheel mid engine just amazing, so nothing against hondas, i would get a itr but i love the mr2, so at again 22 after the air force i rather have a nice fixed up mr2 then a civic front wheel rice
not a genus with the itr ,but over the gsr has i think 40 to 50 more hp, i think option on leather seats, and nicer stock wheels, and all four wheel disk brakes, i don't know if the gsr has it or not
allrite i found the differences........
In addition the Type R has the following upgrades/changes from the GSR
Revised high flow intake
Revised high flow exhaust
Polished and ported heads and ports, molybdenum coated piston skirts, lightweight valves, whole bunch of other engine modifications.
Lighter, stronger flywheel
Limited slip differential
Larger brakes
Revised lighter ABS system
15 in. rims shod with Bridgestone RE-010 tires
New front air damn, larger rear spoiler, combine to decrease coefficient of drag.
Short throw transmission with shorter gears for better acceleration
Front shock tower bar
Two rear stabilizer bars
Stiffened suspension, car rides about 1in. lower, handles tons better.
Faux Carbon Fiber instrument panel
High traction deep bolstered seats
Subtraction of 147 lbs. of un-needed items such AC, sunroof, other miscellaneous parts, and sound deadening material, makes it so you can hear the engine, not
the stereo.(although AC is an option, comes standard with a stereo, weird)
Added 55 lbs. of performance enhancements.
Over 60 engine related parts which are changed or completely re-designed.
Redline bumped up to 8400 RPM, damn thats a lot of revs, also uses VTEC for longer than GS-R.
yes it does seem like the ITR is worth the money. ohh man i need to wake up.... i cant get one of these for another 6+ years
ohh well..... i love them. and to anyone whos got one of these..... cherish it, youve got to cherish it.(billy madison

it does not use the vtec longer than the gsr, and that sounds like a gay description of the differences IMO. I cant say you can really compare this cars on papers or by photos!! go drive
