Default Fuel gauge up and down civic 98 lx...Why?

Why raises and lowers the fuel gauge with the movement of the car?. Is this normal?. or should I do some testing?, is a 98 civic lx. suddenly low and stayed there. I can not tell the truth how much gas is in reality.

its normal with the stock civic gauges in the ej/ek clusters. i upgraded to a crv 5 speed cluster and it moves up and down very slightly and is a big improvement over the civic cluster. im not sure about the si cluster but im sure it would react like the crv cluster and be a good replacement as well and best part of it all is that they are plug and play and fit like the stock cluster . hope that helps....
