Default 99 automatic stall when shifting

Just installed a jdm automatic transmission in our 2.3 accord and trying to figure if this is a solenoid problem on our jdm. It has a big lag when putting in reverse or shifting to drive and when coming to a stop and it has to downshift to 1st and hesitates and seems a little hard. This was not the symptons with our other tranny... it was bad with slipping in all gears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you make sure you shifted through all the gears after the install to make sure all the fluid was filling all the passages inside the transmission? Recheck all electrical connections and verify the fluid is at the appropriate level.
If the transmission was sitting for a while it may need to be driven around a bit.

How many quarts of Honda ATF did it take to refill?

Thanks I have already rechecked fluid and made sure all connection to the transmission are in and connected. Took it for a long freeway test drive and still same thing, there are no codes or check engine light coming up. Just dont want to pull this again, such a pain. Just keep thinking this is a sensor. From a stop all the way up thru the gears everything shifts fine and just when coming out of park to the gears or stopping and the initial downshift to first is delay then it hard.

Ok so for anyone else for future reference my problem was the linear solenoid, pulled the other one off the old transmission and problem solved. There is not a 5 to 10 second delay anymore when taking out of park and putting into the gears and it solved the harsh automatic downshift when coming to a stop.
