I have a 91 ef civic
whenever i go to start up my car i find myself having to stomp down on the clutch to get it to want to start.
ive been doing some reading and im thinking its my neutral safety switch.. not sure if i should replace it, or if it just needs to be adjusted.
anyways, if you know anything, your help would be greatly appriciated.

 

Sounds like the switch.
Have a crawl under your dash with a flashlight and see how it's doing.
Might have just simply loosened up and backed out.

 

Little piece of information. The 88's actually didn't have that switch.

 

Yeah but.. he has a 91 lol.

When mine went bad, I wired it to a hidden switch.

 

He could just buy a 88 CRX, and he wouldn't have the problem anymore.

 

lol sure, buy a new car instead of fixing a simple problem.

 

If it fixes the problem then don't knock it.
Serious problems need serious helps.
