Whats up guys, i put a b18b1 in my ek yesterday and wired it up today the only wires i hVent done are the knock sensor and crankshaft sensor, wel i wanted to see if itd start so i put the key in and all it does is turn over, the fue pump wont cut on. And it was working fine a montth ago when i took the sohc out. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

 

OBD2A or OBD2B ECU? OBD2B requires you to remove the immobilizer and move pin A16 to A15. I can't remember if you need to bypass or hook up the CKF sensor to get fuel (quite sure it should run, just like crap)

 

i thought only the GSR and B18C5 had immobilizers not the LS

 

Its a obd2 p75 ecu and a 00 obd2 b18b1. I have a o d2a wiring harness, its a oem ex one

 

Also check your fuel pump relay.

 

Start here:

1) Is the G101 ground on thermostat house disconnected, loose, or corroded?

2) Is fuse 44 or 13 blown?

 

Both fuses and ground is good. Those were the first i checkef

 

The fuel pump doesn't prime. right?

Is their spark at the plugs?

When you turn the key to ON(II), does the CEL remain on steady?

Any CEL codes?

 

It doesnt prime. And the weird thing isd thr only dash light that comes on is the oil light

 

What car do you have?

Make sure all ECU connectors are plugged in and fully seated.

 

97 honda civic ex, and they are seated right.

 

Is the main relay plugged in?

Use a multimeter to measure voltage to body ground at both top test tabs of installed fuse 44 and fuse 13 (key in ON(II)).

Is there spark at the plugs?

Post a picture of your G101 ground.

 

As far as i know therrs spark i havent tested it yet though

 

Test it. Click spark link in my signature.

 

Ill check it tommorow. If there is none how would it relate to the fuel

 

If there's also no spark, as seems likely, this focuses you on types of problems that would prevent both spark and fuel.

Did you ever come up with a solution? My buddy is going thru this right now. Have spark, one ECU connection doesn't plug in, injectors do pulse but no fuel pump prime. Its a 2000 EK with a LS/VTEC swap. has OBD2 to OBD1 jumper with P28 ECU... Main relay is good, put it in a known working car and it fired right up.

 

did u found a solution am stock i have a 97 ls trying to go in 2000 ek but it wont crank fuel pump primes i have spart but it wont crank

 

^ Did you check the valve cover ground ?

 

Had a similiar problem in my civic fuel pump wouldn't prime, ending up being a main relay the first time.This happened again,the second time it was my wiring from the fuse to the main relay so I had to solder a new wire and it works fine now. Either way I would test your main relay, fuel pump relay and your wiring too.

 

Ok thanks because engine is groundedd good. I thou it was the engine so I I tryied another ls engine but still the samething it sounds like it wannna turn on but it dont now in the procces of changin the whole dash harness.and.see if thatt is the problem.I hope it works

 

Did you end up figuring this one out? If you did, what did you end up doing? I'm asking because I'm having similar issues with one of mine.

OBD1 Z6 swap in a obd2a civic ex. All fuses are good, grounds are good, relay is good. Pump itself is good. I have no power at the main.

So far I converted the alternator, dizzy, injectors and IACV. Besides that I haven't changed anything. I was kind of expecting it to work. But that's where I'm at.

If you dont have power at the main, follow where it goes. or do a continuity check from the fuse that supplies the power and to the relay.
