Increase Torque, integra GS-R??
i got some mods but im not happy with my torque,
Godspeed im
AEM SRI
Replica hytech header
70mm throttle body
JDM ITR Exhaust
2.5 replica Evo 2 muffler ( Its an australian brand, great muffler )
AEM trutime cam gears
everything else stock, never opened engine with 98k miles
Untuned
Without the Intake the car made
167.8whp with 118 tq
in a Dynojet
How much u think i can get if i tuned ?
what would u recommend to make more torque?

Getting a tune will obviously be the best use of your money at this point.Better than a
TB and cam gears thats for sure...
As far as how to increase torque - you aren't really going to do it with bolt ons. You need some way of getting more air into the cylinders or increasing CE.
forced induction, icreased displacement, and increased compression are your only options.
@ what rpm was peak torque & hp?

nice numbers for just a bolt on gsr.
must be a pretty healthy motor.
and you should take that 70mm TB and switch it something smaller.
response would be better and prob. yield a little bit more tq.
and yes gagnartheunruly is right about if your wanting to gain more tq.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
Get a better trans. That'll increase your torque to the ground. I don't like the GSR trans for GSRs. I bought a B16 trans like a week after buying my GSR.
Or get an ITR trans. Same gearing as a B16 trans...but stronger with better synchros and a LSD. Or a 4.78FD ITR trans. Even moar final drivezz.
A nicely designed header works well too. My ITR picked up a ton of midrange by using a kiddracing (PLM) RMF rep. header. Although, I see u already have a header.
Also, your mods, namely your throttle body and IM probably hurt torque by a tiny bit. But the 167HP is nice. Putting down about as much as a stock ITR. Seems far fetched to put down that much with your listed mods, though...

maybe another 2-3 trq with tuning...you need better mods and higher compression for more torque on 1.8 or boost it.
better header and exhaust...i like the smsp headers or highend autosports...same basic design just brand specific. skunk2 megapower for exhaust(i have) or the 3" thermal.

ITBs aren't the answer. That IM and TB combo are already hurting his midrange. I bet you'd pick up 5-10 ft lbs midrange by switching back to stock IM and TB.

4. buy a saab b234r
5. turn vtec up so it hits higher in rpm range. should add a few torque
6. cam gears might squeeze 5+- torque out but youll loose hp

getting a tune would be a waste of money with his setup. on e85 it could add 20hp 20tq with his setup
lol no im not.
i have a b18c with JRSC @10psi and it has a flat torque curve throught the whole rpm range. around 220whp 200ftlbs and it hooks up
consertive tune i could push more from it. but trque is nice
i might tune it for e85 if i can find a deal on injectors.
i was just saying its a waste of money to tune a stock motor gsr unless you boost it or add compression. I/H/E with tb hes pretty much reached his max 170whp. a tune could push maybe 10hp if hes lucky. and most good tuners charge $500+ to tune. plus you need the software. watse of money imo.
save up a bit more and you could have better results
a tune with the mods he has will only help smooth out the powerband that he's effectively messed up with that manifold
but i would recommend an online street tune from the likes of magnesium as opposed to a dyno tune with those mods as well. www.magtuning.com

^ I agree.. but he wont.
I recomend getting a b20b block sleeve that piece, stronger rods, skunk 2 pro bump sticks and pro v.t. oh yeah put gsr head on said block..
OOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooorrrrr............
The stock gsr im is spec. designed to make more torque.
I suggest buy one and port and polish her. I've been working on one myself. Tapered and polished stock gsr tb (fin) and porting and polishing the top part of the i.m. The runners will be the last thing but i might send it to a shop.
"Onefastgsr" ported his i.m but i dont remember the #s he made. Its around here somewhere...
