Default SOMD_GSR_STi's Journey from Subaru to Honda

Ok so I get a ton of questions of "Why did you go from a AWD Turbo Subaru to a FWD Integra". Well this here is to answer those questions. The GSR is my DAILY DRIVER but being a DD its being modded itself to make it even more peppy and clean. Other than that, that is all its being is a daily driver. Come summer time I should have my hands on one of these cars (04-05 STi, Evo 9, Supra, Camaro SS or 03 Mustang Cobra). But here goes from my Build thread on NASIOC of the Subie to now the Integra from build thread on ClubIntegra.com

Used to be a kennel car, so the only problem with it was dog hair in the car. This car was one of my dream cars and since its paid off, will be in my car collection forever. The car has seen the drag strip a few times and also been in some car shows. Best place in car show was 2nd place Best Subaru out of 9 Subarus at a Baltimore car show. Best run at the track is 13.4 @ 97 mph with Intake and Turbo back exhaust (no tune). In this thread will be a few different "Chapters or Sections"

2) ***When I First Bought The Car***
October 2008

3) ***The Accident***
July 2009

Basically what happened here is I was driving home from a car meet. Speed limit was 40 and I was doing 30. A guy just pulled out in front of me and then stopped right in the middle of the road. No warning or turn signals what so ever. Police saw it all happen. For me it was either lock up my brakes and mash him completely, swerve and hit a truck head on and probably not be here today to write this, or do as I did and swerve after the truck had passed. Luckily the airbags did not pop.

4) ***As It Sits Today***
June 2010

Before I Took Wing Off

After I Took Wing Off

New Pics from photoshoot.

THEN THE NIGHTMARE

So tonight my car build went to complete ****. Unless insurance says otherwise the car looks totaled to me. The frame is actually split from where the previous accident weakened it. So here is my nightmare right now.

THEN CAME THE INTEGRA GSR

It is a 1997 Acura Integra GSR. Yes it has meshes on it because 1997 was a special edition or what not is what I read somewhere. I drive about 50 miles round trip to work everyday. Figured instead of a hybrid, ill have fun and have a GSR as my daily while I find a MKIV Supra or a R33 Skyline. Yes I said Skyline, there are a ton of R33's around VA, NC and more and Ill travel to get one. I plan on having one of those for one of our shop racecars by springtime, but until then thats a story for another day.

Here are a few pictures of the car when I got it.

Mod List:
Skunk2 Shift ****
Megan Racing Header
BLOX Test Pipe
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust
Password JDM Power Chamber
98+ Red Taillights
Wink Mirror

Here is the car as it sits now (11/16/2011). Pictures are from our local car meets, shots provided by SJ Photography and Beaten Path Photography

Future Mods:
• NEW XXR RIMS (Pre Order Now, Release Early 2012) Getting them in a Gold/Bronze

• Coilovers
• Red Honda "H" Logos
• Tint
• Double Din TV
• HID's

Remember this isn't a race car, just going to be a nice daily driver.

Lets just call this Project: DDGSR

AND NOW AS IT SITS

Yes thats my Duramax there also. 2007 GMC Sierra 2500. Just put 5 inch MBRP Straight pipe no muffler exhaust and S&B Intake on it.

Shes coming along good. If I can find a place to stay in OC again (because last time was last minute) Im def going. Cars got full exhaust, and some looks things (hids, jdm honda badges, and more) Hoping to have the rest of her ready. Shes pretty stout though. I saw a older red teg with white meshes at wawa in edgewater. Guy said he knows you. Can't remember his name for ****, but like a short black guy haha.

I'm 10-15 mins south of baltimore. Also, blur out the tag in the two or three pics that it's readable in.

Im not worried about tags. Not like anything will happen. Tags are all over the interwebs anyway and worse comes to worse, it gets stolen, I get my KBB value which is 7 grand back from the integra haha. (Down payment on Toyota Supra)

Cool I'll have to make it up there when I get the Teg running again. She looks so sad sitting in the garage with no front bumper. Should be done by the time it gets warm again.

Dude I could work until I always found another job. I do hate working in the mad heat or when its uber freezing haha But a job is a job and it would be better than working at Mc"Fukin"Donalds Come out to the car meet tonight.

Well got fcuked tonight. My own fault but I raced a gsr swapped hatch. Beat it by 3/4 lengths. Both of us ended up with 900 dollars in fines, 8 points. The fines were 90 in a 45 (which he said was more but he dropped it to 90), and the other was Speed Competition on Highway. Luckily im home and so is the car. No jail or impound which he could have. Just now have more bills I have to pay and court.
