Default LS Cluster Swap

Whats up honda-tech hope u guys can help!

I did an Ls cluster swap into my 89 crx si.. from past research the cluster seems to be off a 95. I did the swap and wired it up as indicated off some threads I found on google. The thing didnt work!! the diagrams are all wrong!!
How can I test each wire individually??.. I tried using just the power to test them one by one but not all of them light up. Do some need to be ground to work? HELP PLEASE!!

Cluster errors:
Hit left or right blinker= rpm's jump up and down
Gas guage= either past "F" or "E"
Turn on headlight= Dimer doesnt work
Check engine= doesnt work
alot of wires are wrong this thing a headache

Haha it's cool. Just make sure you use the 89 cluster pin out since I had a 91 it's different but the ls is the same just match up the functions.
