Default 2006 Civic SI Clutch

I have 119,000 miles on my SI. The clutch is still sticky and does not slip, however, I must push the clutch to the floor for it to release. I have checked the hydraulic fluid and it is at max level. What do you think my chances are for a hydraulic adjustment vs a new clutch? I've driven a stick most my life so I don't ride it or spin my wheels.

Make sure your clutch fluid is topped up and the line is bled to remove any air that might be in the line. If there are no leaks detected in your system, I would suspect it is just low fluid.

If it's not slipping I would try to adjust it, remove the panel under the instrument panel and on the clutch linkage you will see a threaded rod, what you need to do is adjust the rod outward making it push further.

Only go a 3 or 4 threads and try it, keep trying until you can get it to disengage higher.

This may help but there is a possibility that the pressure plate is failing, if so then it's time for a new unit.

From what I've heard about adjusting the clutch, it causes the master cylinder to fail faster. If you're OK with risking that, then go ahead.

The only reason the master would fail is if it was on it's way out in the first place, which I doubt is the owner of this threads problem right now.

My 06 si had a bad pressure plate causing a stiff clutch pedal,(twice as stiff as normal) and that master never went out, I tried adjusting it but in the end I needed to change the clutch set.

My problem was my left leg was destroyed in an industrial accident, I do not have the full use of my leg, making very hard to push stiff clutches.
