Default Out with the old, in with the new...

After almost six years, my relationship with my beloved Rota Grid wheels has come to an end.

Recently, my good friend Jason (ef4dr) grabbed a set of MF10L's for his sick turbo, B-Series, AWD EF sedan (build thread: https://honda-tech.com/forums/appearance-build-threads-122/my-turn-build-thread-quest-10s-four-door-2165075/ ), and decided to offer me a deal on his old Volk Racing Group AV Revolution wheels.

Seeing as the wheels would have been fresh from the factory at the time my Civic rolled out from the plant, and I have long-time been a fan of the lightweight AV's, it was a no-brainer for me. Also, it was nice to move up to something a little rarer, and I'm finally no longer "faking the funk". (The Rota's cost me the final step in a HondaTuning feature in 2008, which was at the time already shot by Keith Meilink @ www.meilinkvision.com )

Without further jibber-jabber, here are a couple pics of the car. The wheels are in their native finish right now, and will be refinished in a fresh coat of white with new decals here in the next week or two. Also included are some pics of the engine, which gets most of my money.

Thanks for looking!

- Derek

Those wheels look terrible. What do you need lighter wheels for with a turbo charged k series?

Because they're also 15", and can fit a nice drag radial on them, unlike the Grids.

Its a downgrade as far as looks are concerned. They look like something American Racing would sell for $200.

Nice engine though

I can appreciate that, but I think I could think of 50 other sets of 15's I'd rather have for the same price for drag radial purposes.

I disagree. I think they look good and there are 50 more sets of wheels out there are way uglier.

Those wheels look like garbage. But it's funny that you got turned down for a feature in the magazine because of Rotas, considering I have a Honda Tuning 5 feet away from me with a CRX with Rotas...

IMO if they turned you down for having rotas i don't think those wheels would make them think any different.
