Help with del sol trunk lid

I need to remove my del sol trunk lid to install a new one. But I can find how to disconnect the license plate lights. Is there a disconnect on the cable or do I have to pull the lights out from their setting.

unscrew the lights and take the plugs off them
the harness goes down to the corner of the trunk lid.
pop the clips and pull the harness out.
