CAI less gas mileage??
no not imaging anything, i usually get just under 400 miles to a tank, had to fill up today at 320 miles on this tank..idk it might be something else..im gonna do my head gasket and clean my IACV next week hopefully..it might just be my foot got heavier but i dont know
maybe i got some crappy gas...ill find out on this tank i guess..also whats some more mods i can do to get better gas mileage? im trying to make a super high gas mileage car here bc i drive ALOT

Why are you doing a headgasket change? For fun? I hope it has failed.... Don't do a headgasket on maintenance intrevals... Unless you are taking the head off for whatever reason
CAI should improve economy. You probably have a heavy foot. My milage also varies 5 MPG seasonally. Especially if I warm my car up and start it a lot.

actually i think a CAi might actually improve econ slightly by removing a flow restriction. best way is with driving habits, however. not many mods will increase fuel econ, although all-motor mods that dont alter displacement dont seem to hurt
my head gasket has been like that since the day i bought the car, the car always had cam seal leak, (fixed) vcg leak (fixed) i just am waiting for my head gasket set and arp studs to come in so i can do the job, its not leaking worse or less than it did. but i noticed the slightly less mileage rite after i did the intake, and as for stuff to get better gas mileage couldn't i go with different tranny or gearing to have less rpms when on the highway to improve it?
head gasket blown thats leaking oil? i highly doubt that.
the cai should theoretically improve mileage but considering that your ecu is probably doing some minor adjustments and adding more fuel into your motor then that could be your issue but even then the difference is so minimal that you shouldnt have even noticed a mileage difference unless youre giving it more gas through the pedal.
i say its your driving.
also, as mentioned above, winter gas burns faster than summer gas so that could be another factor

well i already replaced my valve cover gasket, and cam seal because they were leaking, and the only place i see oil anymore is where the head connects to the block. i might be a noob on this forum but i'm not a noob too cars
man, you guys. a CAI introduces denser air into the combustion chamber. denser meaning more o2 molecules per cc. your o2 sensor reads the oxygen level in the exhaust and relays it to the pcm. the pcm then adjusts fuel injector duration accordingly.
simply put-denser air=more fuel
it's the reason why this is not considered "free" horsepower. it's also the reason why mileage stinks during the winter
to the op, you want better mileage, maintain what came from the factory well and you're set

its funny you said that, i was considering putting a d15 into it..but wouldnt i lose my heat, ac and ps? i love having all that as i have a wife n 2 babies
by cam seal, you mean the plug? if not, it's probably coming from there.
just hose it all off with brake clean. everything. get it spotless. then just run the car and watch with a flashlight to see where it's coming from. it aint rocket surgery

no i mean the cam seal, that cheap shitty plastic piece of crap, it was leaking when i got the car, now i got the aluminum BLOX cam seal in and its NOT coming from there..
but yea, just hose it down with brake clean. all spotless. then run it and watch with a flashlight.
