01 dc2 gsr How do i remove the front lower control arm connected to the rotors?
get a jack jack up the control arm to lift it up a little (not enough you lift the car) smack from the bottom with a hammer.
OR
invest in a pickle fork and use that

Try heating up the lca a bit, also spray some penitrating lube in there.
Sometimes you really have to beat the crap out of the lca/knuckle to remove them.
I broke a hammer trying to remove mine.
Also, try a BFH. (Big ****ing hammer)
ok i tried hitting it with a hammer from the top of the flca and from the bottom of the screw where it should drop down too. i don't have anything to heat it up with, don't have much room inside or down under (its on jackstands with the rotors resting on a jackstand) wd 40? also out of sheer madness not being able to get it out i took off the pin that holds the boot right on top of it.. now i need a new one *smh*
EDIT
the reason i'm doing this is cause some lady crashed into my rim and fender and bent the flca assembly.

1) jack up the knuckle a bit
2) wedge the handle of a socket wrench in between the knuckle and the LCA, taking care not to pinch the ball joint boot
3) lower the knuckle
4) if it doesn't pop loose, kick it down, gingerly
When the knuckle drops it will squeeze on the wrench handle. The pressure it causes is usually enough to separate the ball joint. If you are careful you won't endanger the boot, either, although those are very cheap to replace and it's good to have extras on hand.

lol,
notice the grayish/silver metal area on my control arm? there are two points, on each side. you are supposed to use a hammer and hit those points. a few good wacks of the hammer and it'll drop. no need for a pickle fork, or using the ratchet handle trick.

are you refering to the sides of the end point of the flca?
I tried like 3-4 times when I put in my Si FLCA's.
I beat the living **** out of my lca's noithing. pickle fork finaly did it. With my jumping on it. lol I forced it in, and slammed my foot onto it as hard as I could. Took me a good 1.5 hours to get both ball joints free. They simply didn't want to come out. I am guessing it was the first time they have ever been removed.
yes, I ruined my boots, at that point i really couldn't give a **** less. I just wanted them out.
Op, if the ball joints are good you can simply pick up some ES boot covers. Don't be scared if you **** them up.

OP, you are going to have trouble with any method with your suspension in pieces. You probably aren't doing nice things to your CV joints leaving it like that, either, because if there isn't any spring or bushing holding the knucle up it can droop far enough to damage those joints.
I recommend you temporarily put the suspension bolts back in (don't bother tightening them, just get them in a few threads) before trying w/e trick you want to use. Even the BFH trick won't work if there isn't some consistent downward pressure on the LCA.

If you're going to do any more suspension work on your car in the future, just invest in the right tool to make life easier and not damage anything.
Also, just to add, I wouldn't have a stand under the rotor.
not because it's bad, but its going to make it a pain in the *** to get under ther.e

Just use a proper ball-joint separator tool...they aren't expensive or hard to find.
I GOT IT! a pickle wrench worked perfect without damaging anything. boot is still good. i'll post some pics of the damaged parts.
wassn't needed but defs gonna make sure i have them on me next time.
right you are, i put some bolts back in semi threaded and worked way easier.
trust me i learned my lesson on this one. defs going too.
it worked for me cuz i'm a really skinny dude....didn't have any problems with it.
i'll look them up as i'm sure to take it apart again for some new bushings. Now i just need to look for a new control arm.
THANKS EVERYONE for the help. I apprecciate it. I'll post some pics later or tommorow and will defs post back if something else doesn't go right with the installation.

One thing i wanted to point out that i thought was funny. My stepdad helped me with it and he pretty much the same thing. LOL He looked at me all stupid when he saw my medium size hammer and brought out a hugh effin hammer.
