code 65 how do i trouble shoot this and find the problem,i am positive sensor is still good just got wet from steamcleaning, anyone

 

if you have a four wire o2 sensor then it is heated. two of the wires heat the sensor...

 

yes it is a 4 wire and what color wires are the heated ones and how to fix or diagonose ,car is a 96 hatch all stock and i think water fouled sensor about a month ago when i cleaned the engine.throwing code 65 ,need to fix asap . any help is appreciated

 

you have to replace the sensor...

 

are you sure.car was throwing codes 17,41.65 replaced alternater sp sensor fuse and it cleared codes 41,17 but still have 65.does the sensor just burn out like that or is there a fuse to check thanks. if i need new sensor where to buy one for cheap?

 

also is it just the 02 heater that is screwed up or the whole o2 sensor

 

I would just get the universal one from napa or checker, it is only $60, but you have to find wiring diagrams so you know which wires to connect. The one from honda for my car (97 civic ex) was around $250 - $300

 

you have a heated o2 sensor
the whole sensor has to be replaced

obd2 and some obd1 cars have these to help the car get into closed loop faster to help the emission levels stay low

so basicly you have to get a new sensor ...80bucks big deal
