Hello i have a 06 civic lx sedan with 75k miles I recently noticed trans oil leaking close to the rear main seal but not quite at that spot. At first look that is what it looks like but when I cleaned it off to double check its leaking more towards the right of where the engine and trans meets. It only leaks while the car is running which makes me think there is a seal inside the trans leaking then running down and out in between two trans sections. Has anyone seen this before and know off top what seal is causing this before I pull the trans out so I can be sure the parts store has this in stock? Thank you all

Manual or auto...might be some useful info...sounds like a rear main seal on the engine though... only seal I now of that could push that kind of fluid... if it was an auto tranny, maybe the torque converter...check the engine oil and tranny oil levels... that will tell you right away...

 

If it is an automatic, and the fluid is a red color, try adding a bottle of lucas transmission conditioner.
