The idle used to go up and down up and down but I fixed it by adjusting the timing but now when I come to a stop or just rev the engine it almost dies (sometimes it does die) when the rpms drop... what could it be? I haven't really done anything to fix it cuz I don't know very much and don't wanna make it worse. Anyone know the solution?

 

Sounds like the timing is off still. What did you use to set the timing, or did you just play with the distributor?

 

I just played with the distributer cuz that's what my buddy showed me I don't know the correct way to do timing

 

That is wrong. It would be like adjusting fuel pressure without a gauge showing you what you are doing exactly. Buy a $15 timing gun and google how to use it.

To provide a possible cause for the idle issues, I would check and clean out the IACV. Any CELs on?

 

I'm guessing I can pick that up at auto zone huh? I appreciate it... no cel code on.the srs light is on but that's the steering wheel right. Anyway thanksill check that out and I'm gonna clean the iacv today.

 

Yea, autozone, or anyplace like that will have them. I picked mine up from Harbor Freight for like $13.
