ls rocker arm question
I recently got an ls that was disassembled and im putting it back together and i was just wondering wat holds the rocker arms in? does the pressure of the cam hold them in or am i missing something?? thanks in advance for any help
over rev
ive got brian crower stage 2s and valve springs and retainers though
lol o and another question is there any way to check for bent valves with the headoff without removing them? the piston heads look perfect and so do the bottom of the valves just a precautionary check

If you are asking these questions about a simple head then you should not be messing with a head. Always lube everything in the head with assembly lube or motor oil. You ca still over revthe motor and throw a rocker arm. Look at a Vtec head, the rocker arms are held in by the rocker shaft so they can not go any where. Your rev limit is increased by you still have a change of throwing a rocker under high rmps, I would not rev a LS head past 8500 with a good valve trane, just me though others rev to 9000. The upgraded springs will keep a valve from floating with the higher lift cams but do nothing for the rocker arms. You need to remove the valves to check them, if they are bent they would not seal/open or close properly.

i know your supposed to lube everything just didnt know if where its like a hole that they set in if it would increase the chance of it coming out when its running
