Change out brushes in Accord alt brush holders?
I see Honda alternator brush sets available on Ebay.

Are these for replacing the brushes in the alternator brush holders that go in Accord alternators? If so, I am trying to see how it is possible to switch them out. Or is it even worth the hassle to do so?
Any thoughts?
Thanks

It would appear that they are the brushes. Why would you want to change them? Usually the windings go bad or a bearing goes. I changed brushes on my old Datsun yeras ago. They are spring loaded and I used a paper clip through a hole in the housing to hold them in place during reassembly.
Thanks jdowen,
I've extended the life of more than one Accord alternator in the past by changing out the whole alternator brush holder. They run betweem $20 and 30. When I saw these brushes for only $2.53 I just thought I'd ask if anyone had changed them out. On the alternator brush holder I have they look like they are firmly manufactured in there - so I'm not sure it is doable...
