why the jrsc
because its only 2400
and my b16a lacks low end tq

im scared of going turbo because of fuel managment
hondata seems to be the only to go and its so expensive

i been researching for days and turbo still intimidates me
i hear blue boxes suck
i hear the vortech fmu sucks
i hear the vafc hack isnt all that
and the smc i havent heard to much about

if anyone can help me with this decision please chime in
thanks

Yes it does come with a FMU.
But it is locked in at i believe 5:1, all you can adjust is the fuel pressure at idle.
Some people say that they go bad often, i dont know i switched to a hondata shortly after i put in the SC.

Put it this way. In simplest terms...boost is boost. I even wrote an article on this. Putting any type of boost on your motor, will require more fuel, more spark, and tuning. Simply putting a JRSC on your motor, and leaving everything else stock will make you prone to the same types of problems. I am not sure how hot the charged air from the JRSC gets, but I am sure that you will still be prone to the same detonation problems. In my opinion, it's marketing strategy, and an overall internet myth...that a JRSC is inherantly safer than any other form of forced induction.

Now, here are my opinions, so take them as that only. You probably won't be too happy with a JRSC. A buddy of mine swore by them. Put one on his LS. Swore by it. Made a whopping 168whp. Wow. I can make that NA. He can't even break out of the mid 15's. I am yet to come across a JRSC owner who is happy. Now, of course there probably are some, but like I said, this is my opinion only, and I am yet to meet one.

I think you should hold off a bit, and learn more about both sides. I think you will find that a turbocharger is NOT as taboo as it may seem, and it is a lot easier than most people make it out to be. I had a turbocharged B16A...and it was GREAT. I kick myself in the *** for ever selling that car.

What kind of questions do you have regarding turbo?

1st mat thanks for your help
here are my concerns

i have a 95 hatch with a jdm b16a
i would like to be in the 13 second club

im not worried about choosing a manifold, dp , turbo, wastegate ect
its the fuel and managment that scares me

at 1st i was gonna do the vafc hack but i heard it hesitates
i cant afford hondata right now
i was thinking of cartech fmu

say i get the max rev mani and dp, garret t3t4, tail 35mm wategate, max rev intercooler, and piping ect

what do i need to run 7 psi

thanks

you'll need turbo i think for 13 second runs. 13 seconds is quick for a street car in my opinion. and you gotta pay to play.

Your situation is not a hard one. Your goals are easily achievable. 13 seconds is not far away from stock.

I would suggest looking into a good pre-fab kit...Rev Hard would be my suggestion. Sometimes when noobs (no offense) assemble custom kits, they end up f'ing themselves over. You have to be sure you choose the right components so that they work well together, optimally. Getting a pre-fab kit takes the guesswork out of it. They are tested and tuned.

Anyway, you will need fuel, spark, and tuning...which isn't really all that much. For what you want, I figure the following will do you fine:

RC 370cc injectors
Holley 255lph in tank pump
MSD blaster coil
NGK plugs
NGK wires
A'PEXi V-AFC

You don't need that much more fuel and spark, in reality, to run 13's on that motor. Those items should give you enough fuel and spark, and the V-AFC should be able to tune them without a problem. I ran way faster than that on a V-AFC with smaller injectorts. Don't ask me how I did it, I don't know...and that motor lasted me 2 years before I decided to build it (stupid mistake).

My point is, your goals don't put you so far ahead that you need standalone fuel management, and a plethora of other things. It's relatively simple.

Not hard...so just consider your options before you make your choice.

You don't need any more spark to run 13s.

I would suggest colder plugs, and some ngk blues...but it can be done either way.

Yep. Colder plugs (7 series are good). Gapped to .030 or so on stock ignition.
