Guys, I've heard of the "Homemade" setup where you take out the resonator, replace the filter, and run without the airbox cover (stock g3 integras).

Is it safe to drive without the stock airbox cover? with a stock filter? I just wanna see how it sounds.

its not gonna flow that much more and where it does flow from is gonna be the nice hot engine bay.. id say

just take out the resonator, the pipe will sit facing down into some nice cold air.. one step better get a k&n... even better an icebox

Simply; yes. It will sound like you have an aftermarket intake if that's what you're going for, but it won't help performance.

I tried it and it doesn't do anything but make noise. I can feel the HP lose on the upper end too.

thanks guys thats exactly what I was looking for.

I wasn't interested in a HP/Performance gain, just wanted to see what my car would sound like with an intake and if I liked it or not..

needed to make sure I wouldn't blow something up (rather safe than sorry)
