91 Civic dies when driving
Hi,
Car: Honda Civic 1991 Sedan 1.5L automatic.
Since christmas I have experienced the engine stop on me almost daily. It starts perfectly and can run fine for 10 minutes or 2 hours... then suddenly dies. The engine light shows immediately. Electricity is ok, lights, radio etc works. It never stops like this when cold, it has to gain some heat first. The ignition seems to work as I can crank the engine but it doesn't start, after a few seconds the engine light comes back on. If I let it be for maybe 5-10 minutes it usually starts immediately. It can then run 1 mile or 10 without a problem.
I have swapped the coil and it didn't change the problem.
I have soldered the main relay - didn't change the problem.
Battery (not all cables) tested and works.
Just tried to check the ECU engine code with a paper clip and it gave nothing - engine light only went on for a sec when main relay first clicked, then went off with the second click.
Where to go next? I have been told it can be the ignition module in the distributor, a faulty coil wire (but coil is integrated inside distributor housing), main relay, fuel pump, faulty ignition...
A bit hard to know without the engine code. Feedback appreciated.

Sounds like the ignitor or main relay.
When it does die and you turn the key to ON (not cranking to start), does the CEL stay lit?
Or does it go for a few seconds and turn off like it's supposed to?
