Most defiantly. With out the o-ring sealing the map to the throttle body, you will not only have a vacuum leak but your map will be getting incorrect readings.

Nah. That's just extra. Honda just put those in there because they needed to use up all the parts.

Stupid as this sounds, I was working on my original MAP sensor, and I will check again I did not see an oring for the MAP, it was never taken off, could Honda forgot to put in the o ring?

I have to go check again.

With you car was it an original MAP sensor?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but why have us guess? Get the O rings that you know you need and see if that changes how it runs.

How about CELs?

That's has to be an assumption unless you're the original owner. Even then...

I am the original owner.........I know the car like the back of my hand.

It is possible the factory forgot to put it in, mistakes happen.

Recently, there is a recall for Chevy Sonic for missing brake pads, so if that can happen so can a little o ring.

The honda replacement is like $2.73 retail which is crazy.

Anyone know the size of the o ring? so I can match it at the hardware store? Like mm????

Anyone have calipers?

Quick question when removing the MAP sensor will the o ring still be on the nipple of the sensor or will it stay in the hole?

Does the D16y8 o ring look like this, if so it will not get stuck to the nipple I guess?

im not getting any cel, i only have an idle prob (too low when warm and idle screw doesent work, idle wont go up) in my car and all the pieces related to the idle are in good working conditions, so i check the service manual and it said that the map sensor and the idle screw use an o-Ring and my car dont have it

Then get one. Don't question the manual.

your car has the o-ring, look at the black circle around the map sensor hole in the throttle body, that is the o-ring

Why are you making this harder than it is? Replace the damn O-ring. What do you need to see another picture of another car for?
