Can't lock driver side door on 92 2dr Accord
I have a 2door 1992 Honda Accord EXR. In order to lock the car, you need to close the driver door and use the key to lock - annoying as hell but apparently the only way.
It recently got very cold and I can't seem to lock my driver's side door from the outside with my key. I tried squirting in door lock de-icer but to no avail. The key does not turn on the outside although once inside I can lock it from inside with the door lock switch.
Passenger side locks but it does not lock the driver's door.
Any ideas and rough costs of part and how difficult to fix?

Have you ever held the inside door handle open and tried to lock the door
works everytime,,,,,unless there are other issues.
Sounds like something with the tumbler,,,but you knew that. Without pulling the panel and inspecting, hard to say exactly.....

Maybe the key is worn out and need to cut again. Over time, the key gets chipped and shaved and will no longer work in the keyway. I recently had issues with my key not working in the ignition. The key opened both front doors just fine. I tried my back up key and it worked in the ignition and doors.
i just fixed the same problem the other day on my 95 accord ex. all of the doors have an actuator or aka door lock solenoid. the part is about $80 bucks or soo depends where u get it from. its directly under the door lock when u take the door panel off, its kinda like a beige color, w a black plastic cover over it. take a #10 to remove the window track that is in front of it.pull the weather strip inside the track then pull the track down. the actuactor has three lil screws so make sure u have magnet handy when loosening them. install in reverse order. hope this helps.
I have a similar problem with a 4 door 95 accord.
Only the two right doors lock.
The two left doors, the locks, lower a bit(don't fully retract) but they don't lock, with the key & switch.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
