obd2 auto trans work with obd1 dc4

So my beater teg auto trans is slipping And its time for a new transmission I found a new one with low miles but its out of an obd2 car. Will the obd2 tranny work with my 96 ls??

Your 96 ls is an obd2 model as well.

Nope 96-99 are obd2a, 00-01 are obd2b.
