93 DB2 Worth Buying?
Ive always been into DCs, but I recently came across a frost white 93 DB2 on craigslist, and I am in need of a new beater. The car has 120k on everything. Some honda rust on the quarters and needs a new battery
The owner says the car occasionally overheats. I take it as being a headgasket, but theres also the possibility of a warped head or block.
Hes asking $1,250obo, and it looks as if the car was sitting for a while
I was curious to your thoughts on me picking this up. Is it worth the risk or not? If so, whats an appropriate offer? Like I said, Im normally into DCs, so my knowledge on these is a bit lacking. The one thing I do know is that B17s arent common if replacement is needed

I would start at 800 to 900.. The last DB2 that went on sale here went for almost 5k in good condtion... There fun cars and becoming really rare, I would do it more as a collector and they just use a B16 block and head(diffrence is crank, rods, pistons). They are also OBD1 which is nice, I would say do it and try and talk him down like a head gasket is all this work and so exspensive and bla bla bla.
Thanks for the response. I was thinking about starting around $800, because if the engine is warped its a big deal. I guess it wouldnt be all that much to get a machine shop to resurface the head or block if they are warped but its still a major problem
Dang for 1,250 that still isn't ah bad deal..Like he said above they're becoming rare! 800$ wouldnt be a bad start off point...if that car was on Craigslist around my area I would've cop'ed it already!
id say i would pay about $900-1000 for it, just because it needs a new battery, especially if you are just using it as a beater, passing inspection and being able to use it for a year maybe more is well worth $900-1000
I requested a short story for a title.

you might luck out and have the heating problem be something simple like a sticky thermostat or a bad fan relay motor. id say go for it and ur lucky to find one. My search continues
Go check it out. Like others are saying, could be a simple fix. If it is then the price now is more than worth it. And if the guy really knows what he has it may be difficult to get the price down.

i would definitely jump on it!!! like the others said it could just be something minor...if you get there and decide you think it is the head or headgasket you can always negotiate him down to something closer to the $800 mark....good luck
