d15b1 in a CRX HF
Hi guys. I was hoping someone here could help me with this issue. I am having slight to moderate hesitation on acceleration when the engine is cold or hot. There is also minor popping sounds from the exhaust. The following have been done but have not fixed my issue:
TPS
new battery
Cleaned IACV
Distributor
grounds
spark plugs and wires
injectors
fuel filter
regulator
Seafoamed intake and fuel system
Fuel pressure checks out good
good compression
There is no oil on the spark plugs. I did notice that they did look white indicating a lean condition. So i'm wondering if HF ECU just can't support enough fuel for the 16 valves (d15b1) vs the 8 valve (d15b6) for the stock HF engine/ECU. Has anyone else had this issue with this setup? What else should I be testing. Please advise. Thank you all in advance.

My issue is that this CRX already came with the d15b1, HF intake manifold, and HF ECU. I'm trying to get it to run right without swapping the whole engine out. I temporarily installed a PM6 (CRX SI) ECU and it's running better now. I would like to confirm if the Cam profile is different between the d15b1 and d15b2 before I go swapping it out. Thank you for the help so far.
