Removed my wing...got water marks..help~!
Sup guys, I just removed my wing last week, and on the trunk there are hard water marks around the sides of where the wing used to sit. I was wondering what can I do to get rid of them, because I just washed my car and scrubbed those parts down, but to no luck. So any help if you know what I'm talking about would be appreciated. TIA.
Do not use rubbing compound. It's too harsh, and the applied areas will be lighter than the rest.
First try something like Meguire's paint cleaner, or a clay bar, or even Goof Off (it's a citris based gunk remover). I'd even use gasoline before rubbing compound.
Go over it with a layer of wax when you're done.

i had hard water spots on my trunk when i first bought my car...they slowly dissapeared after i waxed the car a few times...i wax my car weekly though...if you dont want to wax that much you can also use a clay bar(as stated in the post above)...clay bar will not be abrasive to your paint like rubbing compound and it works soooo good, just put a coat of wax on after you use it...i worked at a detailing department at a major car dealership and lets say they screwed up major one time...i used clay bar to take WHITE overspray off of BLACK cars with no problems at all...so you can just wax it off, or use clay bar
