I bought a 99 accord ex 4 cyl about 6 months ago with 95k on it. I've had to replace the o2 censor, but I've also been having issues as a couple other people here have where the car dies while driving or in idle at a stop; meters drop, lights turn off, car stalls, but instantly turns back on. I'm going to check all the suggested issues already mentioned in other posts, but I have another problem, possibly related?

When I turn the key in the ignition, (car almost always successfully turns over), it makes a metallic grinding noise. Is this the starter?

check your battery connections. including all the engine grounds, ecu ground, battery ground, fuse box power wire and starter power wires for good and clean connections. if they check out have the starter tested at an autozone for free. make sure your battery tests good first though
