Default My 90 crx build

So I've been a troll for years and have built many cars. Never have a started a build thread so with the new project I figured I would.

Alright so change of plans. Decided that the shave job was done to well and I didn't want to deal with it. So I came across a 90 si for $1500 running with obd1 conversion and z6 swap.

Plans are:

Full Race traction bar
Full Race Half size radiator
HaSport b series cable mounts

B16 turbo
log manifold
Garrett Intercooler
gen 1 skunk2 intake manifold (port matched with 68mm omni TB)
interior from the hump forward
cage in the rear
with 2 buckets
Hondata s300

I will get some more pictures tonight and update this thread as I progress.
Feedback and ideas are more than welcome just no haters.

Is that perhaps a STI sitting beside the HF???!!!! And lol, I know what you mean with the "of it sitting with the wifes crap on it." isn't it funny how all of our stuff is crap, but theirs is gold. Good luck with the build man, hey atleast half the work is done with it being gutted with no engine or tranny. Awesome deal for $400 by the way.

That would be an STI you see. Bought it for the wife in 07 for her birthday. And yes their stuff no matter what is always more important.

Agreed that half the work is done. I had planned on a wire tuck and cleaning the bay and interior up before a respray anyways.

This forum is filled with haters. Just budget everything. I am over budget on my build already.

Subscribed.

I'm working on a 1990 HB right now over here, so it should be interesting to see how yours turns out, especially being the same year as mine.

Best of luck! I'll be getting weekly updates!

Every forum is filled with haters and my comment will more than likely just bring them out of the woodwork. Pretty sure most projects go over budget that's part of the hobby. LOL.

@Shiorun. Thanks for the subscribe. My schedule is crazy busy right now but I will try and get as much as I can updated as I make progress. Subscribed to yours to see how you do as well.

More pictures added to the first post. Nothing special just some shots of it as it sits in the garage.

Nothing big to report still gathering parts and will post some pictures up as they come in. Picked up 2 hoods last night off of Craigslist for free. 1 has a fatty dent in it but the other one is an aftermarket OEM replacement that is flawless and hasn't ever been painted.

Also picked up a Garrett intercooler w\ piping and a log manifold with Turbonetics t3\t4 turbo, wastegate, Greddy type rs BOV and downpipe over the weekend. Pictures up soon.

Installing the Full-Race traction bar

Pops puttin in work cutting the stock radiator mounts off.

Apparently someone liked parking blocks

Because HTH does that happen. (good thing I have an extra one)

Anyone have a solution to not buying the $300 full race radiator? Not trying to gangster lean either. (or if someone has one I will trade the full size Koyo that came with the car)

Removing the rear cross member and swapping the front knuckles from the other CRX. (Passenger side sohc axle completely seized in the hub, and Integra front brakes on the other one)

Nuspeed Race on Tokico Blues. (Plan is a set of drag coilovers f/r)

Clean up of the engine bay has begun.

Full wire tuck and repaint is in order.

Gloss black anyone

All the passenger side in the passenger footwell (going to mount the fuse box here as well)

Drivers side before cutting and pulling back through.

Cleaning up pretty well.

Slightly shiny

(Brake tuck will be left for next winters tear down)

Engine harness unloomed (ready to be extended and reloomed)

Because everyone should have 2 CRXs in their garage. (Wife isn't too happy that her STI gets to sit outside but EF love first!)

Ordered the Hush Performance Cable to hydro full conversion. Their kit is the best period.

Garrett intercooler

Garrett Turbo

Turbonetics Wastegate

Greddy Type S BOV & Hasport hydro b series mounts

DA integra 10.3 front brakes

B series shift linkage

Also have put together my motor.
B16
Head
Brian Crower dual valve springs and titanium retainers
Gen1 Skunk2 Im ported to match 68mm Omni TB
STR high flow fuel rail w/ AEM fuel pressure regulator
Precision 650cc injectors
Having ASP in Auburn install 2 breather in the rear of the valve cover (for catch can)
Also having ASP build me a breather box to go where the stock one goes that will house a small battery.

Block
Stock for now (Plan to build a sleeved block with internals next winter)

T1R breather kit fitting for the block (picked up their ohshit ****)

More to come as I get more done. Trying to balance building this car and advance my career has become a challenge. My goal is to at least have it running and on the road for Forum Fest at Pacific Raceways in Kent 6.23.

Hope to see all you NW people there.

Not sure that would work with the intercooler and the traction bar. Any dimensions on a standard scirroco radiator?

I think it'd fit right under the t bar so it'd be right behind the intercooler

You might as well change out your rack end bushing while you're at it! As soon as I did my swap the whole front end started shaking like crazy, turned out to be that rack end bushing!

Great build!
