87 crx DX to HF conversion questions
Hi,
I'm stopping by because a google search turned up a 6 year old thread about converting a crx from a DX to HF, so rather than add to a thread that old, I thought I'd ask a few of my questions here. I bought an 87 dx, stock, with a busted timing belt. (the PO installed a new belt and claims no compression, so I think its pretty safe to assume the valves are bent.) I have always wanted a HF model, but those are getting harder and harder to find. So I want to lighten this model, and swap over a bunch of HF parts. has anyone ever done this? my D15A2 has a 12 valve head, so can I just swap over a HF 8 valve head? and does it need to be a first gen head? I was going to do that, install a HF controller, carb, intake, ecu, (is the ECU plug and play?) and then figure out the ratios i need to put on taller tires. Any ideas if this will get my close to the HF fuel economy?
Thanks for the help.
