Whats with the hoods raised up by the windshield, and if I would buy a car like this how would I change it back?

 

some people have to raise the rear of the hood for h2b swaps I believe. some do it because they claim it lowers under hood temps. some do it because they think it looks "jdm cool yo." There should just be a stack of washers or a spacer where the hood attaches to the hinges, just remove those.
