New EP3 owner: painted center consoles?
Picked up an EP3 today, kind of on a whim while I was about to go look at an EK hatch. 2004, virtually unmolested 2 owner black Si in outstanding shape. This marks my 3rd Si hatch, the two previous being EF's.
It's been about 11 hours since I bought it and drove it around running errands today I realized that the whole silver center console thing really isn't all that attractive to me. I searched the crap out of this forum and went through 25+ pages in the pics thread and all I could find were some pics of people wrapping them in carbon vinyl. Anyone else have photos of what they've done?
My intentions are to keep the stock head unit, which sadly is silver too, and just get BlitzSafe iPod / iPhone connection wire so I can stream Sirius / Pandora through my iPhone but I plan on either wrapping the center in suede, painting or maybe just black vinyl and want to see how it looks for those who have done it. Please share your pics!

I think you are better off gettin a whole new unit. If you were to vynil wrap the trim, the silver unit/ stereo will still stick out a lot. Here's a link I found and you've probably seen it. It just shows you how good an aftermarket stereo looks with the silver center dash painted black.

He said the whole project only took a few hours and cost $5 in supplies. I might do that this week.
I found this one:

wrapped in matte vinyl - at this point I'm 99% sure I'm keeping the stock head unit and getting the BlitzSafe adapter for my iPhone because I like how it looks at night and it's less likely my car will get broken into / stolen. I probably will end up using interior plasti-spray though

Yeah man no problem. I did this myself but it came out a little bad. I didn't sand it so the paint didn't come out as good. But I still like it over silver. I'm going to do it over probably next week.
^ Here you go. It's not hard at all. Just take your time and be careful..

Thanks! I actually went the BlitzSafe route and hopefully can get in a friend's heated garage tomorrow to install it and paint the console -I'll post photos when I'm done.
