i got a civic eg with a ls motor in it. The cooling fan doesnt work, i tried jumping the fan switch with a paper clip and it still didn't come on. The fuses isn't burned out. im guessing the fan is broken?

Either the fan is dead, or there is a problem in the wiring I would assume.

fans dead. if you jump it straight to power and it doesn't come on theres no wiring for it to be screwed up, or worthwhile amount at least.

Check the fan relay, should be in the under hood fuse box. Also, check your fuses as well.

By the way when you jumped it, did you turn the car on?

the fan switch is on the t-stat housing if you remove the connector and jump it with a paper clip the fan should come on with the key on, if it does the relay is good and the switch is bad. if it does not come on relay or wiring issue

There's something else you might want to check.

My car's got a cooling control unit that is located inside the car, near the driver's seat.

When I first bought it this unit wasn't working properly and the fan only came on once the key was pulled from the ignition, never when the engine was running.

Can it be that you could be having the same problem ?

Also, in my car too there are also a number of sensors that read engine temperature in several parts of the motor. You could try and get a schematic to you can verify they're all good.
