Default What is the oem thermostat opening temp rating - 95 civic ex

My temp gauge barely moves off cold. My heat is warm at best. Car is a 1995 Civic EX sedan. 143k on her.

I am going to replace the thermostat as I assume mine is stuck open.

I have found 170, 180, 195 available opening temps.

What is the factory Honda OEM rating for this car?

Ps: I am in upstate ny, get the extremes of all four seasons here.

Thanks!

-Tony

just buy one from majestic honda, that way you know it'll be right.

fairly certain, oem is 195.

however, given the choice, Id get 180 personally. Regardless, its a 10 minute job...and Im also in NY and it was brutal the last few days....Id just go get any they had in stock and change it for heat.

Thermo's in civic's aren't hard to change....so, whats the difference. Get to advanced/pep boys etc grab a stant for 12 bucks and it'll get you through the winter, no problem.
