here the scoop. i just recently purchased a new timing belt, balance shaft belt, tentioners, seals ect for my 1994 accord lx. i ended up getting a deal on a 94 ex with a blown head gasket. luckily i already had a head gasket and timing belt from my 96 accord parts car, all brand new.
my question is how compatible/interchangeable are components for these two motors. i tried cross referencing part numbers on autozone.com the timing belts are coming up with different numbers. the balance shaft belt and tentioners are coming up the same. what makes the timing belt different?
also i got a megan adjustable cam gear. all the online auctions dident specify that the cam gear would be different between different motors. are all the cam gears the same?
can i use my external coil spark plug wires on the vtec internal coil motor?
here is the cam gear http://www.ebay.com/itm/390366119078...84.m1439.l2649

The timing belts are different because the VTEC head is a little bit taller than the non VTEC one.
Cam gears are the same on both heads.
The wires have different part numbers for both, but I am guessing that it is only because of the extra wire between the coil and the distributor. I have looked at both and I didn't find any difference between them. There could be slight length differences but not really significant.
PS: The head gaskets on the VTEC and non VTEC engines are different.
