Icon2 91 EF short i guess...HELP

Alright so in my 91 ef hatch **** just stopped working.

Fresh rebuild from the ground up everything is brand ****ing new. (everything!)
Car ran great for 2 weeks during the breaking in process. So Sunday night i start my car up to pull in garage.

Out of nowhere my corner lights go out and also my in dash light. First off i thought oh no big deal just a fuse.
check over all fuses all good. replaced all of them just to make sure.

Still have no in dash light, running light nor headlights. Also fuel pump is not priming. That lead me to believe that is was the main relay.
Just got threw putting in new relay and still nothing.
My relay is not clicking at all, and all of the above are still not working.

Any ideas? please help me out this car is fresh and i would hate to sell it but im to the point im done with it. Its always something wrong
just my luck i guess.

If you have a multimeter...
Edit- actually it sounds like a loss of power, which should be easier to find. Turn the key on and check for voltage at the underhood fuses, and dash fuses. You have a bad connection or something loose.

have checked the fuses but i will do it once again when i get off work.

I was thinking it was the main relay since my fuel pump is not priming. forgot to mention normally my check engine light goes off after fuel pump primes.

well i hear no clicks from the main relay and my check engine light is staying on.

Car just cranks and cranks.

Your CEL is on, but there is no code? Are you OBD0? A solid light is a code 0. Check all the plugs at the ECU and make sure they are seated properly.

sounds like a dead ignition switch.

get in your car
put key in ignition
turn it all the way forward with out clutch engaged.
and mess with it back and fourth THE SLIGHTEST BIT is what you wana do!
this has happened to me and i did this. and bam my lights turned on.
;good luck. keep us posted

Ignition switch symptoms are:

The dash will go dark when it dies (no warning lights, no shift indicator, no electrical).
Car stalls then can be started, then stalls after driving or idling for a few seconds or minutes.
Car runs fine when the key slightly held at start position or part way between start and ON position. In rare cases, this symptom is similar to a bad main relay.
Ignition (electrical) switch is hot.

i have hazard which they call warning lights ? ill try it anyways as soon as i get off work.

my car still cranked but would ignite and if it did it would die soon as key was moved.

check grounds
tranny ground
thermostat ground.

also check the 2 wires going into your fuse box in the engine bay (2 philips heads)

yeah man i started the car up and i turned on my corner light because that is what my

oil pressure light is hooked up to, and when i pulled in it the garage my in dash lights went out and my corner lights.
although my brake lights and turn signals were still working i shut the car off

to check the fuses. all the fuses were good but i replaced them to make sure.

i can tell you my main relay is not clicking at all when i put the key in and it is brand new bought it last night.
