i picked up my second EF and i'm not diggin the cluster w/o the tach
and the cluster seems so small compared to my 91 EF. i got a cluster from a 91 model w/tach and my question is would the cluster cover and the cluster w/tach fit into the 89 dash???

and would the gauge cluster plug n play??

 

use the cluster, cluster cover, and brackets and it should fit

 

but would the gauges work properly if i just plugged everything in?

cuz i tried an 88 or 89 cluster with the tach from a 4 door into my 91 EF before and it didn't work......do i gotta rewire???

 

Yes you will have to rewire. Do a search and I think you can find the pin outs for doing the wiring.
