Default 1994 civic lx- Wont start when its warm

When i wake up i can go out there and start it up just fine. No problems at all. But after i drive it for a while and it gets warm it take about 20 seconds to start while holding the key in the ON position. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Are you getting a check engine light at all?

Sounds like a engine coolant temperature sensor issue. If it goes bad it will allow the engine to only soin over, but not start, after the engine is warmed up.

Check for engine codes...

Sorry. Was in a rush. No CEL. When the car is warm it cranks over for about 20 seconds until it starts. But it does start. This only happens when its warm.

Does your check engin light work at all? Does it light up, then go out when you turn the key into the "on"position, but don't try to crank the car?

Here's what I've done and what hasn't fixex my problem;

Replaced all 3 temp sensors
Replaced fuel pump main relay
Replaced dizzy and coil and rotor
Checked all wiring
Replaced tps
Re seated injectors with new seals and yes I lubed em
Replaced fuel pump
Fpr is just fine

Anyone have any ideas? I mean I'm actually doing stuff, wasting $ and I'm not getting tech. When most ppl ask questions then take their car to a shop and don't try anything but get plenty of tech help. Thanks in advance

Ok possible solution. After I learned of "hot start" fueling (which can be read in thread below starting at post # 23 down) I swapped my chipped ecu for a virgin and disconnected charge pipe. Drove like normal (normal as in how I always do) for half a day and not once did it have a problem starting while it was hot. I will be seeing my tuner on friday and he will review. I'll keep posted on what happens from there.

Alright well this is what it came down. Which has fixed (my) problem. Somehow my tune completely leaned out and my crank fuel pressure deteriorated when hot, not sure why or how. Tuner says the tune shouldn't have changed. Anyhow, tuner burned new tune and increased crank fuel pressure. The only troubleshooting answer from them was fuel filter/pump.

Both my filters are less than a year old and less than a year ago I had to replace gas tank. So my tank is clean. I put a Walbro 255 pump in 3 months ago.

So not sure how it happened and why. But it did get fixed, tuner said bizarre and might come back. But what I do know is when I used virgin ecu it had no problems starting even once.

Hopefully this helps the next person out. Good luck hope it never happens to you
