97 Coupe Build... LMK what yall think... lots of pics!
So through a partial trade/sell of my 95 GSR teg, i got a 97 coupe (which i love the body style of)...
the car had a Blown b18a1, and i so happened to have a 97 Gsr Teg parts car that is (or was) complete besides being wrecked in the rear 1/4 panel....
So you see where this is going! lol
I just got the car running and went on the first test run lastnight and thought i would share the pics i took along the way...
This is the way i got the car... notice the lower RAD support is MIA...




trunk was ziptied closed because the trunk latch was anialated

Not sure if you can tell here but still has AUTO pedals in it...

Ok this is where my plans cost me some time.. i was going to modify the GSR harness to work in the ek, which i got frustrated with and ended up making the dx harness into a vtec harness including all features of the GSR


decided that junk *** RAD supp had to go...

New Rad supp... was lucky enough to find one the same color!!!

oh yeah, the rear t bracket they used to put the LS in there was homemade and looked like an infant welded it up, so i hit the dealership for an OEM 99-00 si bracket...
thanks, i will post a few current pics later today.... it still has a VERY long way to go to be as clean and nice as i want but its headed the right direction

took the FULL GReddy cat back from the GSR as well... i will need to lengthn it about 4 inches in the future so the tip sticks out like it should

ANYWAYS... it wasnt a straight trade i got $2500 plus this EK and the freebie clutch/fly found in trunk, plus a OEM si spoiler (that im not gonna use, so its for sale) and i have already sold the LS trans from it for $350, so im happy the way it worked out.... PLUS i bought the 97 GSR parts car for $1000 so I acctually have very little into this build SO far, lol!
Lookin good man!! I see you got the XTD clutch!! A lot of folks will say STAY AWAY...but I had a 6puck XTD and had if for like 8k miles and never had a problem and grabbed nicely!!...I sold the car...and the guy that bought it has had no problems till this day! Don't know how much or how hard he drives its...but I just talked to him a week ago and its still rockin' and rollin!!
Yeah i really wanted to, but there was like 8'' of snow out when i was swapping so i will do it in the car when it warms up a bit... Im pretty good at it and i have a bad *** HONDA pressure washer (lol, i loves me some Honda! made my wife get an Odyssey and i only have a GMC cause Honda dont make a full sized truck).... if it doesnt come clean enough then ill just pull the swap and do it better, no biggie...
I would also put that header off the blown B18A on the GSR, it will bolt right up no issues. For sure get the front and rear brakes off the GSR and the brake master as well, it bigger than the civic's. Also swap the Tegs sways bars.
