crx quarter panel patches??
so it looks like I'm picking up a crx.. needs a little love, but a good place to start my vitara build. but before I get into that I wanna get the body lookin sharp. I've been doing a little searching and have had no luck finding *new* quarter cuts or quarter panel manufactured patches. are there any out there? I have a few crx's in one of the local yards, but the quarters are rusted in the same spots(right at the corner that meets the bumper) any help would be appreciated. I just don't wanna try to shape my own weld in's lol.. and packing on the fibertech and filler is out of the question
I found them not too long ago as well, and for $36 a side they're great.

Thanks, but I know all about that. I have been posting that site for years. I was asking "slightly funked" and not the OP as I want the FULL QUARTER PANEL and not just the wheel well arches. I can assure you - it I could get full quarter panels for $36 each I would be dropping around $10-20k right now on them as an investment.

Last I saw (quite a long time ago), the full quarters were ~$430 a side from Honda. They used to be available on HondaAutomotiveParts.com, HondaPartsDeals.com still lists them for sale at $380ish per side.
I'm in Canada and I paid $1000 for both sides, my buddy gave a good deal he then later got fired and Honda still gave them to me for that price otherwise they would've been around $1300. So ya them came straight from Honda.
If Hondapartsdeals.com has them and any of you guys are lookin to get them I would act quick, so many of the parts are discontinued, I've ordered from them before to and the prices are awesome and its OEM parts, those quarters would run you under $800.
As for my earlier post its not necessarily the only right way either lol many ways to do it right.

A guy could also go with the panel bonding adhesive, Im not a huge fan of the stuff but it does have its places.
And they are discontinued in Canada, well there was one driver side left this summer after I bought one.
And on hondapartscheap theu updated their site less than 2 months ago and they list them discontinued... So good luck finding them!

wow, crazy! I never would have thought you could get the entire quarter *new* from anywhere these days lol. I'll still do the arches tho, for around 120 bucks completed I'm not complaining. my opinion is also if it's not rusted or smashed it doesn't need cut out. and the rest of my quarters are great
those entire quarters are pretty impressive tho!!

The hard part was removing the spot welds with a spot weld remover and getting eveything lined up with the new qaurter. I will never do it again, it makes you understand why they charge so much at body shops.
heck ya, unless your a very talented body man... and have previous experience doing quarter replacement definately stay away from it. or have the pros do it for you. my best friend is a certified body man fortunately for me
I'll be using the "friend" card for this one lol
I work in a bodyshop, it is pointless to replace the whole quarter panel section like the one from Honda if all you need is to replace the arc around the rear fender. The $39 one will work just as good, if you know what you're doing.
Bigger panel will just make the job bigger, harder and more time consuming. But I do agree the honda 1/4 replacement is better that is why it cost more.

Im a certified bodyman
I have a crx Im redoing, one quarter is really damaged and both quarters have rust starting under the quarter glass, sills are pretty gone as well, and rust around the wheel arches, the OEM replacement quarter is really nice seeing as they give almost half the sill on the quarter too. Probably toss up a new thread when I really get into this project
